About Java, Adopted

'Thanks for taking a peek at my bio. I'm glad you are able to look past the outward scars of my old life and want to know more about me. I'm Java and I'm as good as a cup of coffee on the porch on a Sunday morning. I know you're thinking, nothing can be THAT good, but I am. I came to Legacy Boxer Rescue after I was found dumped with my 4 puppies. I am so sweet that I even nursed and helped raise 11 additional puppies! Those little ones wear you out and I'm glad those days are behind me now. I'm ready to be the one to get the care and attention instead of giving it. I am good with other dogs after a slow introduction and I'm good with cats too. I also LOVE kiddos! Since I'm a big girl, kids over 5 might be best since I can get rambunctious when I play and I might knock them over. I am a Boxer mix, maybe Mastiff, which could be the reason for my size. My foster mama always tells me I'm such a good girl! I already know how to sit and shake and since I am very food and treat motivated, I could learn more if you're praising me and giving out the treats. I love going on walks and know that its more fun for people if we walk together instead of pulling along you along. I definitely know to do my business outside and keep the inside clean because the inside is for hanging out and snuggling on the couch! I rarely need to be corrected for behavior and a gentle but firm verbal correction is all I need. I have not been crate trained because there have been sooooo many puppies around (15 in all!), but I do get gated in a bedroom when my foster mom is away. I bark loudly when she leaves because I'm just so happy to have a good life now and get upset when my people leave. Since I have a loud bark, apartments may not be the best home for me. I've already experienced so much in my 3 years of life. My body shows some of the hard times I've been through, but life's too short to hold a grudge.
