This sweet little girl was dropped off at the vet by her family. She was extremely weak, couldn't stand or walk and is very underweight. The family showed the vet a photo of rat poison, and said she ate some 2 days beforehand! This poor girl sat at home slowly getting sicker and weaker. Finally when she was so weak she could no longer hold up her head, the family brought her to the vet and left her to die. Her name is Cheza. The vet was able to stabilize her and get her past the most critical part. She was clearly not well taken care of even before she ate rat poison. Cheza is so skinny and starving that it's no wonder she ate the rat poison. Naturally, she's a bit shy, but warms up quickly. Cheza is house trained and dog and cat friendly. She is highly motivated by food, which will be a great training aid. She's about 2 -3 yrs old and otherwise healthy. Once she feels comfortable, Cheza is loving and friendly. She follows her foster mom around and is becoming more confident. When Cheza is strong enough, we will have her fixed, vaccinated and chipped. We're looking for a forever home in the Los Angeles area. If you'd like to meet her, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com. Cheza deserves a wonderful home that will treat her like the princess she was always meant to be.
