Hi, my name is MONTGOMERY - ID#A4427041. I am a neutered male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 1 month old, and I have been at the shelter since Jun 10, 2020. Montgomery was found by a caring stranger who brought him to the shelter. He's only about a year old and being in this crazy world all by himself is no place for this sweet boy. He is still learning the ropes on the whole adolescent dog stuff. Montgomery sure would love to find a family who will be dedicated to his training to help him become the best boy he can be, who will guide him with love and not give up on him on his more challenging days. Monty has all the curiosity, energy, zoomies and love of an adolescent boy. He would benefit from a home that will provide him with a routine and involve himin all the activities. He is in it for a lifetime and that's a mighty long time! Here are some notes from staff about Montgomery: 7/3/2020 ENRICHMENT Easy kennel pull; pulled on leash; explored yard; treat motivated, barked for treats and demonstrated 'sit' for treats; leaned into petting; ducked away from slip lead placement initially; returned to kennel without issue. 7/5/2020 ENRICHMENT Participated in play group, entered yard and immediately became defensive. Settled with corrections; engaged in social interaction momentarily with playful female but when female became pushy. Montgomery got defensive. Can escalate quickly but does well with polite dogs. Undersocialized in dog play. 7/6/2020 ENRICHMENT Easy kennel pull; excited and playful. Spent time in yard; affiliative with lead. 7/7/2020 ENRICHMENT Taken to yard for one on one enrichment with handler. 7/14/2020 OBSERVATION Canine has been reactive in kennel towards strangers, placing back on adoptable b-mod board. Also placing on daily enrichment board. Please consider this teenager for your next furry family member.
