Australian Cattle Dog / German Shepherd

Hi! My name is Riley and I am looking for my furever home! You see, the first 10 years of my life were not the best. I was a farm dog and spent most of my time outside. I didn't mind it that much but when my owner died, I was taken to a very scary shelter. The warden there wasn't very nice and gave me three days to find another place to crash or I was going to be shot. Luckily, a nice lady got me out of there and I landed in a foster home with Sophia's Grace Foundation. The first few days in my new foster home were quite an adjustment. I had to learn how to be an indoor dog. Hardwood floors are slippery when you aren't used to them! I also got my very own dog bed. I love it, it is so comfy! After a few days in my new foster home, I went to the vet to get my vaccines and neutered. During my exam, they took x-rays and found out that I had been shot in the leg when I was younger! There are still bullet fragments in my knee, but they don't really bother me. They also discovered that I have hip dysplasia. Sometimes it makes me a little stiff, but I have great medication that I take everyday now that helps immensely with the pain and inflammation. Frankly, I feel great! I love running around the yard and chasing my foster siblings. I like to race them. Sometimes I win, but sometimes I come in second. My perfect home would be one where I can spend the rest of my years being a family dog. I love all people and other dogs. I don't quite understand cats though and they are fun to chase. I am completely house broken and crate trained. I love treats and scratches even more! My favorite scratchy spot is behind my ears. If you are looking for a big goofy friend, then I am your guy. I weigh around 70 pounds, I am neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. I am currently being fostered in Westerville, Ohio.
