Motley is 9 y/o and has a black merle coat, approximately 6.5#. Amazing temperament, personality for a chihuahua. He is always happy with tail wagging. He does not bark as often as most dogs his size. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs - big and small. He tolerates kids wonderfully but would rather not be held by them. He loves to cuddle and enjoys being close to you. Unfortunately, I have entered into a busy work schedule, which includes watching my grandchildren. I am also in the process of moving, as there is a need to downsize due to my husband's recent heart condition. I just do not have the time/attention needed. I do place him in diapers, as he is prone to having accidents in the house - peeing. I have had him checked out by his Vet, and everything checks out okay. They believe it is likely behavioral. He also has subluxating patellas (back legs), which is common in most small dog breeds. Trust me - This does not impede him in any way, and he never had any issues. He was also diagnosed with a slight heart murmur, which is monitored on an annual basis. When rescued, he came up heartworm positive. He went through the treatment, and is negative, and has remained so. I am diligent with preventative flea, tick, heartworm medications, and routine visits. He is a wonderful, loving little guy with an amazing disposition. He desires more attention, love, and support. I find it difficult with my changing schedule to accommodate. He deserves to be in a home that is suited to his pace and lifestyle needs. He has been in my life for five years and will miss him so!!! I am heartbroken, and it has not been an easy decision, but it is the right one.
