Toby is a 3 year old Terrier mix. He is about 30 lbs. He was originally adopted from us as a young pup. He is neutered, housebroken and current on shots. He got returned and here is what his owner says. We paid $2000 in the spring of 2018 to get a double femoral head ostectomy (FHO) surgery due to bad arthritis in his hips to the point he couldn't put weight on either back leg. Since the surgery he healed amazingly and runs better than ever. Toby also has separation anxiety and can be quite destructive if left alone for long. He also is a very high energy dog and needs someone who can give him a lot of exercise. Toby also has some stranger anxiety and doesn't come around to guests very easily and barks at any and all people, cars, animals, etc. Toby has a strong prey drive instinct. He has killed multiple small livestock on our farm and most recently got a hold of a kitten. With living on a farm with small animals and having a newborn and a toddler we don't feel comfortable with him in our home. So, based upon what we have been told - here are our thoughts on the idea home for Toby. A home without small animals who is ok if he chases squirrels or rabbits out of your yard. Best with kids over 5. Another dog in the home 30 lbs. or larger. Fenced in yard so he can wear off some of that energy.
