About Scout

American Staffordshire Terrier / Beagle
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Hi! My name is Scout! My foster mom says I'm the goodest boy ever! I'm a 1 year old Pit Bull/Beagle Mix. I do great in my kennel as long as I have a comfy bed in there to cuddle up with. I have 4 foster dog siblings and 1 foster cat sister. I LOVE my dog siblings! I play with the big ones AND the little ones and can play all sorts of styles with them. I have a blast in daycare too! My cat sister is a little scared of all us dogs. When she comes around I'm very curious and interested, but listen well to my foster mom when she calls me away. I think if the kitty were comfortable, we could be great cuddle buddies! I've been through a lot before I came to live in Illinois with all these loving people and dogs. I was attacked by another large animal and have a big scar from them on my back leg. Due to my injuries, I need some controlled exercise to build up my muscles. Foster mom says I have a 'chicken butt'! I was pretty terrified of everything when I got here, even the air conditioner. But my confidence has grown a lot recently, I wasn't even hardly scared of the fireworks! I'm still a little afraid of getting near, in, or out of the car but I ride nice and quiet, just a little drool. I haven't been around too many kids, but I think I would like tiny humans just fine as long as they are nice to me! While I would be fine having all your attention, I think I'd prefer to have a dog sister or brother to live with. I like to love on them and they help me be more confident when I'm unsure. I'm the sweetest boy and just want to be friends with everyone and give them kisses! Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
