Hi, my name is CHAPO - ID#A4163303. I am a neutered male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Jun 17, 2020. I just recently lost my home when my owners made the decision to surrender me. I am only 5 years old and have my whole life to live! :) I have polite manners, sit for my treats, solicit attention from my human friends, and REALLY need your help finding my way home. I arrived with some suspicious lumps and bumps on my tummy area. I just need to find the family or person who is willing to take a leap of faith with me, just come visit with me and give me a chance to prove I'm worth the leap. Here are most recent notes from staff about Chapo: 6/17/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT K9 allowed vaccines with light restraint. K9 was timid and had ears back and was pacing. K9 walked to kennel. 6/19/2020 OBSERVATION Easy kennel pull; walked on loose leash, tail wagging; in yard, dog immediately came to handler, solicited attention by climbing on lap; leaned into petting; demonstrated 'sit' for treats; stayed close to handler most of the time in yard; returned to kennel without issue. 6/20/2020 EVALUATION Easy kennel pull; slightly hesitant during collar placement, looked at handler; leaned into petting; spent time in side yard, started to bark for attention as time progressed; due to dog's medical status, no dog-dog assessment will be completed; we cannot provide information on this dog interacts with other dogs.
