Murphy (4416922) is a 2-year old, neutered, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier that will be placed on the euthanasia list on 6/24. Although Murphy did well with dog intros in the past, his current evaluation notes indicate he needs to be an only dog at this time. Murphy has done well with meet and greets with both males and females, allowing petting and handling and has walked well on-leash with customers. In the past, Murphy has wanted to work on his skills (sit, down, high five and shake) with his favorite staff person; however, recently he has seemed preoccupied when he has been out in the yard with her. He doesn't want to do his commands or play; instead, he is at the fence looking at cars that are leaving and at the people passing by. If Murphy could talk he would probably say that he wants to go home and doesn't understand why he is back at the shelter. His evaluation notes state that Murphy remained social during his time in the yard but wouldn't take correction and was dominate as he was likely bored. Murphy was surrendered because he reportedly started snapping at his adopters, although he may just need a foster home to decompress in and feel secure. Please call 520-800-4633 (Doggy Hotline). We recommend not to go directly to the shelter. E-listed dogs have stipulations and the shelter might say the dog is 'Unavailable' or requires a 'New Hope Pull'. These conditions can be an obstacle that we can help you with! My ID is #A4416922... Must call 928-699-4657 to schedule to meet me!
