Meet Emory Emery is a young male Labrador Retreiver mix. He's a handsome boy that we rescued from a high kill shelter. He arrived on June 14, 2020. He's been a great guest and we're glad he's safe now. Emory is five months old. He has a beautiful rich brown and white coat. His eyes look like they're laughing and his tail is always wagging. Emory is already working with several uber volunteers and trainers. Emory loves people and has a very friendly personality. It seems that Emory is all puppy. He's never been socialized before. Now that he's safe and not looking for his next meal or safe place to sleep, he wants to play, play, play like the carefree puppy he is. But to get adopted, Emory will need to learn some manners. He's showing that he responds well to gentle training and guidance and he's treat oriented. In a few short days he's learning to walk well on a leash, although he can occasionally forget he's supposed to be concentrating and he goes in to play mode. No problem, a treat and some gentle guidance and Emory calms down and he's learned to sit on command. Emory has a good energy and would do best with an active person or family where he gets to be part of all the activities. Emory is very sweet and fun. He has a zest for living and is a joy to be around. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. We haven't yet tested him with cats, but we will do so for potential adopters. If you're looking for an incredible puppy to welcome to your family, Emory may be the one. He's so handsome and sweet and just joy personified.
