About Rappaport (west)

Hi, my name is RAPPAPORT - ID#A4409861. I am a neutered male, brindle and black American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 2 months old, and I have been at the shelter since Apr 24, 2020. This guy absolutely ADORES people...as in he wants to be touching you, leaning in for pets and comfort 24/7. Rappaport comes off a little desperate when he comes out of his kennel because he is actually pretty terrified of his surroundings. He is playful and fun, but at the shelter also needs that reassurance of physical contact. Here are some recent notes about Rappaport: 6/3/2020 WALK Jumped up on approach; settled when handler waited and 'sat' on command; jumped up on handler occasionally for first few minutes of walk, then settled and explored/sniffed; pulled on leash; easy return. 6/6/2020 ENRICHMENT Energtic in kennel; pulled on leash exiting building; walked well on modified harness; jumped to solicit attention, but also settled and leaned into petting; returned to kennel and ate treats, no issue removing leash. 6/11/2020 OBSERVATION Jumped up in kennel, settled when handler waited; pulled on leash, occasionally turned and jumped up on handler; wind blew door open quickly when exiting shelter and dog cowered, flinched - quickly recovered and leaned into petting; energetic, ran around yard; placed front feet on bench next to handler and leaned body against him.
