About Booser

Adoption Fee: $175
Great Pyrenees / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Documentary film enthusiast, shares global warming articles on Facebook. Medical marijuana patient, drives a Prius #FeelTheBern -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intake Date: 1 June 2020 --- Age: 3 yrs ----- Breed: lab x great Pyrenees ----- Size: 100 lbs ----- Status: owner surrender ----- Compatible with: dogs, older children. No cats. ----- Suitable for: home with a securely fenced yard. --- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Needs a firm owner, boundaries, consistency. ----- Additional Notes: This polar bear of a dog came to rescue after being bounced a few times. A foster home took him in as an owner surrender for another rescue, but the rescue closed leaving the foster with a dog that is not a great fit for their household long term. Booser is a fun loving, giant goof ball of a dog, but he does have a few quirks that come along with owning a guarding breed. While generally friendly and excited to meet new people, Booser can be reactive at barriers, such as a fence line or through his kennel, with people he doesn't know. As he has settled in over time, these behaviors have diminished, but it is possible they could resurface in a new home. Once Booser knows you, you are his best friend and he'd love to hang with you. He enjoys going for walks and basking in the yard, watching the world go by. Booser requires a slower introduction with new dogs, as he can get a little overwhelmed at too many coming at him too fast, but once he knows a dog, he is a submissive teddy bear. He also doesn't know just how big of a floof he is, so action around young children. Booser walks okay on a leash. Once in a while, he likes to practice bounding around like the mini pony he is, but he quickly composes himself. Booser is generally quiet in the house and not a barker (as a note, he is currently fostered in a rural area so there also isn't a whole lot going on). Booser deserves a home that will love him for the big, fluffy, shed-everywhere, class clown of a dog that he is. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A securely fenced yard is mandatory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
