About Ruth

Adoptions are scheduled by appointments only after an application has been filled out. If you are interested in adopting, please download an adoption application from our website TORescue.org and submit over to us. Please do not visit any shelters or rescue groups prior to coming into ours. We do this to keep our animals healthy and diseases from entering our rescue. When Ruth arrived into our care, she was cold, dehydrated, emaciated and very sick with an upper respiratory infection. Her mother had been hit by a car and she was brought along with her sibling to a rescue that specializes in dogs. Sadly, there was an unfortunate accident at the temporary foster home overnight and her sibling had to be euthanized as a result. Two of our volunteers were at the rescue when she was brought here. They tried their best to make her comfortable, but she was inconsolable so they decided to foster her. Ruth cried for the first 16 hours searching her blankets for her mother and sibling. She was the saddest kitten they have ever fostered. The breakthrough finally came during a middle of the night feeding when she looked deeply into her foster mother's eyes and made that transition from seeking comfort from another cat to accepting it from a human. She was warm, her belly was full and she was being loved. Ruth has not cried since that special moment. She is a very friendly, happy and playful kitten who loves her people very much! Ruth is now searching for her chance at a loving forever home. She's looking for a family that is going to spoil and care for her forever. The adoption fee is $140 cash or if using card, a 3.75% fee will apply, which goes back to saving more animals from hoarding situations, dumps, abandonment, or just neglected.
