About April

April is a stunning and active young adult. She was originally impounded as a stray in a kill shelter and after we pulled her we realized that she was pregnant. 4 weeks later she gave birth to 7 wonderful puppies which all found homes very quick, but no interest in MOM yet. She is very energetic 5 year old and loves to play with other dogs her size. She weighs about 45 lbs. We would like to see her in a home with an active person who might take her on hikes, long walks or runs. No small children because of her quick movements and energy, older children are fine. She does need some leash training as she likes to to jump on by passing people or bikes. She does not like cats and gets along best with dogs her size or bigger. She rides very well in the car and is a big snuggler. She listens well and is crate and house trained. She does need an experienced dog owner who can establish him or her as the alpha as she likes to take over as the boss lady. We are only able to meet with pre approved adopters since we do not have a shelter available to the public. April's adoption fee is $ 250 which includes all vaccines, heartworm test, spay and micro chip
