About Wilson

Adoption Fee: $180
Boxer / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Wilson Wilson is a beautiful boy who's been through some tough times in his young life. We rescued Wilson from a high-kill shelter after goodness knows what trauma he went through. He arrived on May 4, 2020. We don't know a lot about Wilson, but we know this. Someone viciously cut and cropped Wilson's ears to try and make him look tough. The pain he suffered at the hands of this terrible person is hard to imagine. It breaks our hearts at the cruelty shown this sweet fur baby. But Wilson carries on and is a joyful and lovely young dog. We think Wilson is about seven months old. He looks to be a Boxer/German Shepherd mix, weighing 37 lbs. He has beautiful markings and gorgeous coloring. Wilson also has fun energy and a lot of it! He's young and playful. He loves playing fetch and throwing his ball around. Wilson also LOVES water and will play in the pool as long as we let him. Wilson needs a little training. When he focuses he will sit. He's a smart boy. He's learning to walk on a leash and what boundaries are. We expect because he's been so deprived of kindness in his life, he's lapping it up at our shelter where he is showered with attention and love. To help him transition and learn what it means to be safe, we're indulging his need to be with people. Gentle training will come later when he's feeling safe. We think Wilson will do well with other dogs. He likes to play with his mate, Barkley, who we rescued at the same time. Wilson seems to be afraid of cats and prefers to go the other way rather than engage. If you are looking for a wonderful young and sweet dog to welcome as your best companion, Wilson may be the doggo for you. He would love nothing better than some TLC and a safe place to land so he can be the best boy ever.
