Name: Lacey Age: 2 1/2 years (born December 2017) Breed: Bully mix Sex: Female (confirmed spayed) Location: Mobile County, AL Vet Info: Lacey is confirmed spayed, but is not up to date with vaccines (her owner writes that she would be more than happy to get Lacey's rabies vaccination). She tested negative for heartworm on 5/5/2019. Lacey weighs about 60 pounds. Lacey is completely blind. Her owner tells us, 'Her eyes were removed due to a dog attack at 2 weeks old.' Owner Info: Lacey is a beautiful girl who was saved from going to the shelter by her current owners. They write, 'We rescued her from going to a shelter with no plans to keep her but she had to have surgery and so we were keeping her until she was fully healed. Now we're trying to find her a home and have been unsuccessful. We're moving in the next month and cannot bring her with us.' They have tried contacting other rescue groups but have not yet had any luck. They have had Lacey for two years. Lacey's owner also gave us more information about when they're moving: 'We're in the process of moving now but plan to be completely moved by June 12th!' Lacey is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. She is housebroken and leash trained, and knows the commands, Sit and Lay Down. Lacey is a friendly girl and is good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats. She currently lives with another large dog and a smaller dog. Lacey's family writes, 'she does good with all animals but she doesn't realize how big she is so she plays a little rough. Wouldn't be good with an old small dog but great with my small dog who is 3.' Lacey can be possessive of food, and her owner gave us more details: 'She only shows agression when she's eating but only to other animals. Humans can take her food but if another dog comes up she will growl most of the time. But she's completely blind so I understand. Not agressive with toys or treats to anything'. Her owner tells us Lacey has never bitten or snapped. Lacey's owner wants us to know what a special girl she is! 'Lacey is a wonderful dog who adapts well and loves people. I really hope she can find a loving home.' **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
