About Snickers

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Snickers is a spunky, smart 3-year-old Rat Terrier with the quintessential Rattie personality--'large and in charge!' Her alert expression is penetrating as she stares up at you waiting for your next move. She's 14 lbs. and seems to be the kind of dog to put on pounds given inadequate exercise or too much food. She is definitely a big fan of food, of any type. She doesn't have any food aggression, but she has the speed of a supersonic jet if anything hits the floor. Snickers loves to play--with other dogs, with toys, and with people. She runs and barks and plays in true terrier style--growling and jumping. Her photo album at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/snickers has a couple of shots of her typical play style with her foster brother. She'll need to be watched when playing with bigger dogs in case her rough-and-tumble play gets her into a situation she can't get out of on her own. There are no cats in her foster home, but she would probably chase a cat and annoy it to play. Agile and energetic, often jumping on the tops of furniture to look out the windows, Snickers can be quite vocal, alerting the household to any strangers, approaching cars, or new dogs in the yard. She not only barks but yodels and 'talks' when excited, so she might not be the best choice for a place, like an apartment, where sound travels easily. While she's generally not destructive in the house, she does enjoy shredding pee pads. (Fortunately, beds, towels, toys and such have been safe from her shredding urges.) A good chew bone or rope will satisfy her, but she'll take all her toys outside on occasion to hoard and treasure. She's is house-trained and crate trained, knows how to use the dog door in her foster home, and is good on leash, and rides well in the car. Snickers is an all-around lovable 'people dog,' who enjoys the company of humans of all shapes, sizes, and ages, including children. She doesn't even mind being picked up and carried around, Just make sure she locomotes primarily on her own or this pretty, personable pup might put on those pounds. Doesn't she add up to one sweet little treat? Let's face it, you know you're not you without Snickers. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SNICKERS, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
