About Jackson (west)

Hi, my name is JACKSON ID#A4410018. I am a male, neutered, white and brown American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old, and I have been at the shelter since April 26, 2020. Jackson has been scheduled for euthanasia in the next few days. His only issue is that he doesn't like other dogs very much. Other than that he doesn't get along well with other dogs. Here are his intake and evaluation notes: 4/26/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT Super friendly and energetic. allowed vaccinations will litght restraint walks on leash but pulls hard. 4/27/2020 EVALUATION Attempted to push past handler, fence fighting upon exiting the kennel. Canine did not vocalize during fence fighting but pulling hard towards the kennels. Repeated these behaviors upon entering the catch pen, and attempted to grab fence. Placed in side yard 4/30/2020 EVALUATION Aroused in the kennel; barking and pushed to exit. Pulled very hard on the leash. Stoic in the catch pen. Quick entrance; immediately attempted to attack another dog. Continually pulling toward and biting at the other dogs while trying to remove from the yard; completely unresponsive to the yard. Jackson is a very calm and sweet guy who relates with humans very well, but would need to be the only dog in the home. He knows 'sit', and takes treats very gently. He would need to have a very secure back yard. Please save this sweet boy. He deserves a chance at a life.
