About Madison*

Madison is a sweet approximately four year old pit bull mix. She is extremely sweet, well-behaved, loves to swim, loves to cuddles, loves walks, is house trained, and not destructive inside if left unattended. She is about 42 pounds, spayed, and up to date on all of her shots. She loves tennis balls, bones, and toys that are stuffed. She will swim for hours if you play fetch with her, but she generally won't swim in the pool unattended. She can be a bit aggressive when it comes to tennis balls, bones, unattended food bowls, small dogs, and female dogs, but she has never injured another dog to the point of bleeding or needing medical attention. She is just a bit territorial and dominant. She has lived with and Australian Shepherd mix (male 50 pounds)since she was 5 months old (when I found her). Her and the Aussie did get along very well, there were only a handful of time she got aggressive due her tennis balls, bones, unattended food bowl, and attention from strangers within her home. I would do my best to keep them separated when new people came over and I would introduce them to both dogs individually, then everything in the house would be peaceful. She is very smart. She knows the commands: leave it, sit, stay, wait, stop, bring, backup, lay, and drop. She loves treats, pets, and snuggles! She walks great on either a harness or collar, but harness is better. She prefers dog walks or swimming as her exercise because she releases more energy and it means the human has to be with her while she does it, she very much LOVES human companionship. She has only been around children between the ages of 5-12, and not very often has been around them. I would say total she was around them 10 times over the span of 4 years.
