Kong is an all white, lovable, loyal, energetic, fun, and special mixed breed pit bull. We rescued him when he was about 5-6 months old from a home that he was extremely neglected and possibly abused. I learned that he may be deaf after getting him and took him to a vet and it was confirmed that he may be mostly if not ALL deaf. This does not hinder him at all because when one sense is taken away the others highten. He is very energetic and STRONG and loves to play. The problem is that...KONG DOESN'T KNOW HIS OWN STRENGTH! Honestly, we've given him a terrific home with a huge, clean back yard and a nice garage to sleep in that's heated or cooled as needed and he mostly ALWAYS has access to go outside on his own. I'm sad and happy to say that we have SPOILED him and in spoiling him we haven't given him the proper training that he is needed and this is becoming to show as a FAULT. Kong will be looked at as AGGRESSIVE to people that doesn't understand his breed and I don't want our lack of training him to become the cause of him being 'PUT DOWN'.. because he's deaf and needs a person that has patience and time and or money to give him the proper training needed for a sweetheart like him. I BUY him family packs of chicken breasts or thighs or whatever chicken is on sale to cook him everyday with RICE AND GRAVY..along with A HARD DOG FOOD...AND HE REALLYYYY LOVES HIS GRAVY! HE knows how to entertain himself by himself when he's outside..but he's very mischievous and will absolutely make a run for it if he can find a way out of the fence..so DON'T UNDERESTIMATE HIM...he's extremely smart and this is why I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AND ITS IMPORTANT THAT HE GOES TO A LOVING HOME. He has been aggressive in the past with strangers when they try to walk up and pet him.. ESPECIALLY IN HIS OWN YARD!. He needs to interact with other dogs and I believe he will do well with a slow supervised experienced people and setting. Kong has sooo much love to give and you will KNOW you're safe when he's with you! He just needs someone to take the baton of the love, compassion, and time we've been giving him and finish the race to give him his FOREVER HOME/FAMILY that he deserves. We feel guilty that we have to get rid of him after rescuing him from that HELLHOLE HE WAS IN AS A BABY.. because we don't want him to feel that he's NOT WANTED OR LOVED and it's EXTREMELY important to us to know that he's will be adopted by someone that's going to love him and give him what he needs and what he wants. HES BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH...HE DESERVES TO BE LOVED SO IF YOU KNOW OR NOT SURE THAT YOU CAN DO THE THINGS THAT HE NEEDS AND DESERVES...LET SOMEONE GET HIM THAT CAN!! This breed already has a bad wrap and is struggling EVERYDAY...KONG NEEDS A LOVING HOME!
