About Sargent

Adoption Fee: $225
Boxer / Australian Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Sargent Sargent was surrendered when his soldier dad was deployed overseas. He's been with us for more than three years. Sargent is an awesome dog. He was 18 months old when he arrived but now he's almost five. He's thought to be a Boxer/Australian Shepherd mix. Sargent is a handsome boy with a tan and white coat and one brown and one partial blue eye. His ears are expressive and he looks at you as if he knows what you're saying. Sargent is mostly house-broken but could use some consistent training to make him just about perfect. He's smart and knows some commands like sit and shake. Sargent has a lot of energy and will enjoy being part of an active family that's able to keep his body and mind going. He's game for most anything. Sargent has a high prey drive. He does not seem to like other dogs and especially doesn't like cats and will need to be in a home without them. But he loves people. He is anxious in the kennel, but outside he is a wholly different dog. We had hoped his stay with us would be short, but sadly that has not been the case. If you're looking for a wonderful fur baby companion to welcome into your family, Sargent is awesome and deserves a second chance. If interested in Sargent, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
