About Electra

Meet Electra!! Fun loving and outgoing dog. Huge personality in a tiny package! She was rescued from Puerto Rico due to the earthquake destruction they are facing and is now ready for her new home. Electra is a 11 month old, female, Chihuahua mix. She weighs 13 pounds. She is up to date on shots, microchipped and spayed. Electra is very active, fun loving dog. She rode in the car very well, she did not get car sick. She really loves playing with other dogs. She also enjoys playing with her toys. She does well with both dogs and cats. She can get overly playful with both so you may need to remind her to calm down if she gets too excited. She did not do very well meeting younger kids. If they were calm and quiet she would sniff and lick their hands but she got scared and snippy when they tried to reach over her head to pet her. She should go to a home with dog respectful children(10 and up) Electra will test the limits but firm and consistency from her foster has drastically improved her behavior. She's doing better with training every day! She does extremely well with structure. She has been doing much better with potty training. She does okay on the leash for walks. She is so full of energy she flips around in excitement when walking. She is also crate trained. We don't know her history and she may have had to struggle to find food. She's extremely motivated by food and hasn't learned to give humans space when they are eating. So far she's had a lot of issues sharing food, treats, and bones with other dogs. She needs to only have treats and food items when she's alone to avoid any issues. Electra is higher energy and has springs for legs and can jump waist high. Her foster nicknamed her 'Springs' She will need a family willing to deal with her energy level and preferably a fenced yard. She is described by her foster as being a really fun dog that has a ton of potential for an active owner or family Vet and home checks required.
