About Archimedes

Adoption Fee: $350
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

You have a quiet home, a good sized yard (acres even better!), and you see Cattledogs as partners. You don't have any interest in taking your dog to a park or beach or any other busy venue. You want a loyal and partner to follow you through the day and hang out with you at night. You don't mind putting your dog away if you are going to have a lot of company. You are the person our handsome Archimedes has been waiting for! Archimedes is a 2.5 years old Australian Cattledog who weighs about 50 pounds. He knows his basic commands. He is house and crate trained. He is even polite around livestock. He can live with other polite, respectful dogs of similar size, preferably a female. He is also fine as an only dog. He would make a wonderful partner for a ranch-type home where he can be someone's constant companion. Archimedes had someone treat him unfairly in the past. He needs a solid leader who is fair and even-keeled. He needs someone who doesn't care that he won't return the item he fetched, because he wants to keep it (at least until he finds something else). Archimedes can get leash reactive when things are exciting. When this happens, he has been known to direct his concern at the leash. He did bite the hand holding the leash once, which is why his trainer will show an adopter how to keep things calm for him when on leash so he can be his best self. For the right home, Archimedes is an amazing pal. He is located in SoCal. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt in Riverside, CA. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
