Thank You for your cooperation*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay, PayPal, or cash. Zao Zao had a very rough start to life. He was born in a breeding business where he and his littermates spent their entire life in an overcrowded wire cage. There was never enough food to eat or clean water and no bed or toys or kind humans. After being passed over by buyers he was getting to the age where he couldn't be sold for top dollar so he and 4 littermates were at high risk of ending up in the meat trade. Thankfully our rescuer partner in China intervened and asked if ASTR could find homes for these sweet corgi pups. Zao Zao is currently in a foster home with other dogs and is adjusting well. Zao Zao is very fond of his foster family and wasted no time getting attached to them. This boy is pure joy! He loves playing and exploring outside both in the yard and walks on leash. He's starting to get the hang of toys and tug-of-war and he is definitely a big fan of meal times and treats. In 3 weeks time he's gone from being hand shy to loving attention and giving kisses. Zao Zao has not been around young children but does well with the teens in his foster home. It is always up to the new family to be responsible with introducing new pets and in all interactions with pets and children. Zao Zao is about 6 months old and weighs about 17lbs. Based on his appearance we believe he is a corgi. He has been neutered, is current on all vaccines including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, and rabies. Zao Zao is microchipped, and has been wormed twice. Zao Zao will need work with potty training and general obedience. This sweet boy has been through trauma and many transitions in his short life and is depending on us to find him the best forever home possible. With that in mind we are looking for a home where another dog is present. He needs a home that is able to be patient with the transition, willing to work with a trainer if necessary, and able to give him unconditional love. Please only submit an application if you are ready to adopt now and willing to go through our process. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people who are not ready to commit. Please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately not able to respond to everyone. We appreciate your understanding. Zao Zao has an adoption fee of $1350.
