Quigley Down Under was born in September 2012 he is current on vaccines, neutered and chipped. He loves to work, hike, paddleboard, play fetch (although his retrieving is better than his returning) and he loves water. He has a lot of energy but is usually the first one to bed. There has been an incident with a nip where skin was torn. He is protective when on his home turf; barking at anyone that comes on the property even if he knows them very well. Quigley would do best as an only dog. He doesn't seem to have animal aggression when out hiking or on neutral grounds. Because of his high energy and lightning fast maneuvers, I don't allow little children to play with him. He loves people but you need to have a quick reaction time if you rough house with him. When walking on a leash, he does take 10-15 minutes before he stops pulling. If you wear him out first, he will hang right with you. He has been allowed to get on the couch so if you let him inside you will have to train him if he's not allowed on furniture. Quigley doesn't have a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Most of his commands are practical; no shaking or playing dead. He does however take food very gently. He responds to 'dogs out' if he needs to leave a room like the kitchen. Quigley sits and stays very well and will wait for you to tell him 'ok' to go get his thrown toy. He comes at a dead run if a loud tongue whistle is giving (he could easily be trained to a plastic whistle). He loves to give kisses but only at his own discretion.
