About Squiggy

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Dear good and kind human, my name is Squiggy. People say I'm a Rat Terrier boy, I'm 2-3 years old, and I weigh 13 lbs. But that's only a tiny part of who I am. I want you to know the rest of my story because you might be the one I've been waiting for. Until I was rescued, I lived most of my life in a small cage at a place called a puppy mill, where I spent my days alone. I was afraid of all people because I had never seen people do good or kind things. Now all that has changed. My foster parents tell me that I am a good boy and that someday I will find a good and kind person of my own, but it has been hard not to be scared. They have been very patient and have given me space and have let me hang out with their many dogs and cats. Now I feel a little more comfortable and I even made a friend! He is a big dog called a Lab. He has taught me how good it is to be a dog in a loving home, not a lonely cage. I have learned to trust my foster parents, to go potty outdoors, and even to play for the very first time! New people who try to pet me are still scary, and little people called children are the scariest, always moving and jumping and making noise. My good person, if you are patient, I know that I will learn to trust you, but please don't have any of those scary little humans. Leashes are also quite scary, so please have a yard with a fence so that I can wander and explore and take care of business. In my foster home, I have something my foster parents call my safe place. It is a crate where I sometimes sleep with the door open. I also sometimes sleep in bed with my foster parents. That is when they gently pet me and tell me that I will be all right. And you know what? I like it! It makes me close my eyes and start to dream. And in my dream, you, my good and kind human, are petting me on the head, and everything IS all right. And that's the rest of my story. With love, your soon-to-be loyal friend Squiggy. *********PLEASE NOTE: Squiggy requires a fenced yard. No applications without a securely fenced yard will be considered for him.********* ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SQUIGGY, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
