About Mabel

***SPECIAL NEEDS. *** Mabel is a 1 1/2 year old Aussie mix weighing approximately 40 lbs. Mabel is the sweetest, kindest, happy dog. She would love a home and family of her very own. She is looking for a very special home that can accept her limitations but allow her to be the happy girl she loves to be. She has a severe birth defect that has caused luxating patellas and rotating tibias on both back legs. This creates mobility issues because she cannot straighten her back legs. She is not a surgical candidate so the best option is to allow her to get around as she is and use a doggy wheel chair if you want to take her for long walks. She currently can walk and go in/outside to potty on her own. She is able to get up and down some steps. She will run / and sprint a few feet at a time to play with her doggy playmates. She is not in pain at this time. Because her condition will not improve unfortunately, we consider her a hospice case since we cannot guarantee her mobility long term. She is the sweetest most loving girl and would love nothing more than a human to bond with and love on! Mabel would do great in an apartment environment or with someone looking for a low energy, cuddle bug. Mabel is house and crate trained, does well with other dogs her size and smaller and gets along with the cats.
