About Captain

German Shepherd / Lab
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Our long term resident, Captain, has seen many other dogs come and go while he has been at the shelter waiting and waiting for his forever home. This boy loves toys, going for a brisk walk and car rides. He is also housebroken and knows basic commands. He thrives on being with his person and he is BIG enough to fill all your affection needs. Captain loves mental and physical simulation to keep him happy/content. Captain has a high prey drive and loves to chase squirrels, chipmunks, etc. and will dig under fences to try to get to them. His adopter needs to understand that he loves to eat so much that he needs to be left alone while he enjoys his meals and treats. He would probably do best as an only dog and in a home with no/older children. This Shepherd mix boy is about 6-7 years old and 55 pounds. Captain would do best in a home with the following criteria: -No kids, other dogs/cats/pets -Experienced dog owner -Low foot traffic home (non active home without lots of people coming in and out) Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event.
