About Snowy

Snowy is a sweet, 5 year old Chihuahua mix. She was found scared and wandering the streets of Tacoma approximately 3 years ago. Snowy is extremely affectionate and snuggly with familiar people. Because of what we infer was a traumatic past, Snowy is very scared of new people and barks, growls, and nips. She does NOT display these behaviors with familiar people. She continues to be very submissive, even with familiar people. Snowy is more or less tolerant of children, but they seem to cause her anxiety. She would do best in a home without children. A significant part of the reason we are seeking a new home for her is that we have a small child and another baby on the way and this does not seem to be a good match for her needs. Snowy has been living with another dog since we've had her but she has been observed to bark and growl at unfamiliar dogs; she could be compatible with the right dog but it is possible she is not compatible with all other dogs. Snowy would be happiest in a quiet, child-free environment with low exposure to unfamiliar people and pets. She would be the perfect companion for someone who can spend a lot of time with her. Snowy is up-to-date on her vaccinations and has no known health problems (other than a small umbilical hernia that does not cause any issues). She is a special girl who's had some traumatic experiences, seeking a loving home.
