About Roxie

We know nothing about Roxie past, but we assume it wasn't a good one. We took her from a Rescue in TN that had had her for 3 months and could not place her. We are not sure why, but Roxie was afraid of just about everything. The television, the telephone, the doorbell, and just about any other sound. She was extremely fearful of new people and was starting to shut down by the time we got her. She transported here with a dog she had never met but bonnded with which was a huge help and then she was very excited about the dogs already here. Roxie has been returned twice through no fault of her own. Her first adopter decided they didn't want her. Her second adopter returned her with tears in her eyes because she could not keep her. Because Roxie is timid and shy so many changes make it difficult for her. We are hoping to find Roxie her real forever home this time. She is a 3 year old American Bulldog mix that weighs about 120lbs. She is still very timid when meeting people and it does take her time to acclimate, but she is a very sweet and loves attention once she is comfortable. Roxie is also a very low key dog. She is very calm and laid back in the house. She does like to go out and play with the other dogs but that is short lived due to her size. She is great with other dogs and cats. Her first adopter from 2 1/2 years ago had a daycare and she was fine with the kids. Roxie is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, house broken and crate trained. However since she has gotten comfortable she has not used a crate. She is a sweet girl and would love a home before the holidays.
