Daisy Mae is an adorable 8-month-old puppy girl. She currently weighs 9.5 lbs. Daisy is being fostered in Leesburg, FL. UPDATE : My responsibility to Daisy Mae is to find her the best home possible for her needs and personality. I would like Daisy to have a fenced yard, a young active doggie friend to play with, and a stay at home or home a lot grown up to continue to help her with her puppy manners. UPDATED BIO 12/20/2019: Daisy is an adorable 8-month-old Yorkie puppy who is finally ready for her forever home. It took a while, but at last Daisy is the healthy puppy she was meant to be. Daisy became a United Yorkie Rescue puppy in the middle of August. We knew she needed an expensive liver shunt surgery. Her surgeon wanted to wait until she was 6 months old before he did the surgery along with her spay. Finally, on September 16th she had her surgery and it was a great success. Daisy had two months before she could have her follow-up exam with her bile acids check to see if the shunt had thoroughly closed, and hooray - it had! This last month from the middle of November until the middle of December, Daisy was slowly weaned off of her special liver care food to regular dog food and finally it happened. She is on a regular dog food diet now. Daisy Mae is as healthy as ever and about as perfect a puppy as you could find. Daisy is a very energetic, active puppy. She loves to run around the fenced yard and play with the other young dog in the home. They play vigorous games of chase and tug-the-toy. Often, they bring their game inside and run around the house as fast as they can. When Daisy has no one to play with she will sometimes just run and run outside and inside all by herself. She is such a happy girl. Daisy loves everyone no matter if they have four feet or two. She will give kisses and then more kisses. She will sleep on her doggie bed at the foot of her foster mom and dad's bed. In the early morning she loves to crawl under the covers with her foster mom and dad and cuddle up next to them, but first she has to give a lot of kisses to make sure they know she is there and ready to cuddle. As perfect as Daisy is, and she is great in the car, she is still a puppy and needs more training. She doesn't understand that her puppy teeth are sharp and hurt. She doesn't quite understand that she can't grab at people and their arms or ankles with her teeth if they don't pay attention to her and throw the toy so she can fetch it and bring it back over and over. Daisy may be fine in a home with older kids, but not young ones. She can be pretty rough when she plays. She hasn't been around many kids so any children in her forever home should be at least 12 years old or older. She really would love a fenced yard because she is not great on a leash and she loves to just run like the wind. She would especially love a young doggie friend who also loves to play. Because Daisy is still so young, she still needs training. She needs house-training and puppy manners training. She is learning 'come' and we are working on 'sit'. She will come if she knows there is a treat, and hopefully she will learn sit, too. Daisy is smart and she can learn if there is someone home and has the time and patience to work with her. Therefore, her best home would be a mom or dad who is home most of the time and will work with her on her training. Daisy would not be happy nor do well alone, or crated or gated all day. Left alone to her own devices she will get into a lot of trouble and can at times be somewhat destructive. Please keep in mind that Daisy is only 8 months old. She needs a forever home where her people will be there for her for at least the next 15 years. If you think you are the right forever home for this adorable, lovable, energetic puppy please consider making her your forever baby. PLEASE NOTE: Daisy Mae can only be adopted into a home with children the age of 12 years old or older.
