Meet Buddy Senior dog in desperate need of a home! Poor Buddy is twice unlucky. This dear precious boy was recently returned to the shelter which he hates so much. You see, Buddy was adopted a few months ago and we thought all was good. Unfortunately, Buddy's new owners have been suffering unexpected health issues and can no longer give Buddy the attention he so desperately wants. It's with tears in our eyes and a heavy heart that we are reposting this sweet senior dog'|again. Our greatest wish is to find Buddy a new forever home. Buddy is so sad and uncertain at finding himself back at the noisy shelter through no fault of his own. No matter how we try, we cannot help Buddy understand what has happened. He is feeling defeated. Let us give you a little background on Buddy. After loving and caring for Buddy since he was a puppy, Buddy's elderly owner (his original owner) could no longer care for him and he surrendered his best boy to our shelter on June 4, 2019. The separation was heartbreaking for both, but time and a good home healed Buddy's wounds. Those wounds have been reopened and it's painful to see Buddy suffer. After being in a home for several months, Buddy has proven he's just about the most perfect dog you'll meet. You can tell he's been loved his whole life. Buddy is a senior dog at a little over 10 years old, but he's healthy and well taken care of. He's thought to be a German Shepherd/Corgi mix, which gives him his compact, solid and definitely unique physique. Buddy weighs 49 lbs. Despite the uncertainty of his new life, Buddy gamely jumps in to new situations and his personality shines. Buddy is a happy-go-lucky boy. He's friendly, cuddly, and super sweet. He's house-trained and he walks well on leash. Buddy likes to be with his owners and is a most awesome companion. A family that includes Buddy in all they do would be ideal for this old boy. After being let down so many times, Buddy can be a bit clingy, afraid that those he loves will abandon him'|which has happened twice now, so it's understandable. Volunteers and staff are trying to make Buddy's transition back to the shelter bearable and they gush over him as the most adorable dog they've seen. Buddy doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He loves and greets everyone he meets with a wag of his tail and eager eyes. Buddy does well with other dogs. We'll cat test him for potential adopters. If you're looking for a dream dog to rescue - a senior dog at that - to welcome to your family, come meet our Buddy. You'll be glad you did. Maybe you can be that person/family to give Buddy the loving and long-term home he deserves. A place where he can live out his golden years in safety and warmth as your companion. Buddy is fully vetted and microchipped. Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee.
