Great Pyrenees / Alaskan Malamute
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

HAZEL WILL BE SHOWN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. PLEASE EMAIL [email protected] TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. Hazel is a Great Pyrenees and Malamute mix. Hazel is a very special girl in that she has congenital epilepsy and occasionally has cluster seizures, which can be very scary and potentially life-threatening. We took Hazel to Texas A & M to be evaluated by the best veterinarians in the state. They performed an MRI on her brain as well as several other tests to try to figure out why she was having seizures. All of the tests found absolutely nothing abnormal about her brain and no sign of any disease that could cause her seizures. Hazel is a very smart, independent and playful puppy. She gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. Hazel is also bell trained and fully house trained. She has never soiled her kennel, neither at night nor when I'm away at work for the day. Hazel is going to need a very special adopter. One who will not be afraid if Hazel starts seizing. One who will be vigilant about giving Hazel her medicines on time and consistently. One who can afford a trip to the emergency vet clinic if Hazel has cluster seizures that can't be controlled with her medications. She is currently on 4 medications that have to be administered exactly 12 hours apart, twice a day. We hope to eliminate one of those medications in the next 2 months. She also has prescriptions for 2 other medications that have to be administered during and immediately following a seizure. Hazel is available for introductions by appointment as she is currently living with a foster family. Est. DOB: 11/23/18 63 lbs. and growing
