2.23.20: PUPDATE - Blanche recently had glaucoma surgery in her one remaining eye and is officially a lady to be seen but who can no longer see. This hasn't stopped her from living her best, classiest life yet. Blanche was brought in as a stray with a chip. Unfortunately, her owner never came to pick her up. With a list of medical issues far too advanced for the shelter to handle, Blanche was quickly put on the 48 hr, red list. We pulled her hours before she was set for euthanasia. At the vet, we found out Blanche has a 6/6 heart murmur, a lip mass the size of a blueberry that needed to be removed/biopsied and that her eyes were in really bad shape. We were told that she was never going to be a candidate for anesthesia because her heart was too weak. After a few weeks on her heart meds, rest, light exercise + a healthy diet Blanche was ultimately cleared to get the surgeries she needed! Her left eye was removed, she had a dental deep cleaning with 4 teeth extracted + she had her blueberry (lip mass) removed and the biopsy came back CLEAR! At each check-up, her Doctor is completely blown away at how healthy and active this sweet girl is. Blanche is an adorable love bug who gets heart medication that she has no idea she's scarfing down during brekkie and dinner. She is THRIVING and looking for a home that will give her unending love and all the cuddles she deserves. She adores cuddling and being with her people. She is being fostered with other dogs of all shapes and sizes and 2 cats. She gets along great with all the other dogs at the dog park and walks well on a leash + has a wonderful disposition with children. She is a good listener, eater and is eager to please for human affection.
