About Gilley

**PLEASE READ GILLEY'S BIO THOROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING** thank you Gilley is an approximately 7 year old Poodle/Dachshund mix who was taken to a vet by her owners because she became very very sick. Her owners never spayed her and she got a severe uterine infection called Pyometra which can cause death. It is serious but can be treated with surgery. Her owners did not want to pay for it and asked for her to be euthanized. Luckily for Gilley, that vet asked the owners to surrender her over and he reached out to us for help. Gilley became part of our rescue, had surgery and did very well. She has recovered perfectly and is in perfect health! Gilley is sweet and lovable with everyone! She seems to like a calm and mellow environment. Gilley loves adults but a little nervous around children so she should be in an adult only home. She is like a little shadow and bonds to her person right away just following you everywhere but she is not needy and can be independent without any separation anxiety. Gilley is almost perfectly potty trained with outdoor access. She needs a home where the owner is not gone long hours, works from home, or retired.One thing about Gilley is that she DOES NOT like to be lifted, carried, or picked up. We are thinking because of her intense surgery in her belly area that maybe she is still nervous about being touched there. All you need are doggy stairs in the home and a doggy ramp for the car, and you are all set! Of course, working with her daily on this issue will help her gain confidence and trust. She can be an only dog if she isn't left alone or she can be a companion to another older, calm, and mellow dog. She weighs 16 1/2 pounds. Gilley is now spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, and is now in great health. Gilley has been through so much...she deserves it all and more. WE ONLY ADOPT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS WE REQUIRE A HOME CHECK AND A TWO WEEK TRIAL PERIOD. WE ONLY PLACE DOGS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS A HOME CHECK AND TRIAL PERIOD ARE REQUIRED.
