Hi! My name is Zeus. I am a 7 year old magnificent long hair Maine Coon with orange tabby and bullseye markings, and I am a polydactyl, so I have extra toes which makes me look like I have tiger cub paws! My caretakers rescued me after I was left outside in the Las Vegas heat when my previous people abandoned me and moved away from the area. I am now looking for a new home without any cat roommates, and probably none of those small human roommates my caretakers call kids - I've never met one, but they think I would prefer to be the center of attention so I don't get jealous. I am a dominant male cat, and I just don't like my current cat roommate, so I am very aggressive toward her at times to let everyone know my feelings. My caretakers have tried to help me learn to co-exist with her over the past 6 months using various calming techniques, behavior blends from Jackson Galaxy and even Prozac from the vet, but she's still just not my cup of catnip. I have some 'catitude' at times, and I will definitely let you know if you are giving me too many pets and over stimulating me, or I will give you some small teeth nip tugs on your clothes to let you know I need your attention for something. I love treats, sprawling out on my back in sunny spots, watching birds and just strutting around showing off my glorious physique - I'm 17+ pounds of solid cat. Oh, did I mention I absolutely love treats? (Don't leave the bag out because I love them so much I will chew right through it to get to those tasty little nuggets) Boy, do I LOVE TREATS!! At times, I will lay near you for pets, but I don't like to be held (you can pick me up to move me or transport me somewhere, just don't hang on to me for too long and we will be just fine). Also, I don't like stepping on or laying on blankets or soft beds (I don't know why, I just don't like it - kind of like my current cat roommate), so any firm sleeping spot suits me just fine. I use the litter box like a champ, and I don't scratch furniture, just give me a few of those cardboard style scratch pads and a tall scratching post and I'm set. I firmly believe cats need claws and it's inhumane to remove them, so I can't live with you if you would ever declaw me. Oh, and I am a strictly indoor cat. So, if you think you can meet my accommodation needs, provide me with a bounty of treats, and want to be roomies, or maybe just want to know more about me, reach out to my caretaker representatives asap!! (I'm really, really ready to get away from my cat roommate and I think she feels the same way!)
