About Mint Julep

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Mint Julep is one spunky little gal! Found in South Carolina with her one puppy, Julep is estimated to be just 4 years old. Now that she has completed her duties as a mom, she dreams of a home of her own. This Rattie mix may take a minute to warm up to you and any strangers, but be gentle and patient. She'll be in your lap in no time, and at 12 lbs., she'll fit so nicely. Once she's completely comfortable with you, be prepared for a very loyal little companion, who loves snuggling under the covers with you at night, lounging in the sun during the day, and getting treats just about any time. She'll also try to help out around the house by being your mini watch dog, alerting you to noises, visitors, and people passing by. Julep has her playful side too. She likes playing with the other dogs in her foster home, chewing bones, and racing to be the first to get the ball when it's tossed. She would enjoy a fenced yard, where she can roam and relax, but she walks perfectly on a leash and enjoys strolls through the neighborhood and park. She's hoping you'll have a canine playmate--preferably one who won't mind that Julep still plays the mom role now and then by telling other dogs she's the boss. Julep is crate-trained, but she's house-trained and trustworthy enough to be left loose in the house if you have to go out.
