About Tofu

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi there, my name is Tofu, but I can assure you, you'll all like me whether you are a vegetarian or carnivore. To be honest, I'm not a vegetarian myself. I like to eat and I do it in a very gentle and lady like way by taking my time. If you give me a treat, I will take it gently from your hand and even give paw for it. In general I am a very low mainten ance gal, I like to snooze and cuddle and don't even bark at the mailman. I like my big foster brother and never get in his face or annoy him, even if he is eating. I don't get why he get's so excited about these little brown furry animals called squirrels, but the other day I ran along with him and that was fun. Belly rubs and ear scratches are the best, I can't get enough of them but if you stop I'll just lay by your feet or on the dog bed and wait until you'll do it again. When I go on walks, I don't pull on the leash and walk right by you. Anyone I've met either on the street or at the house, I really liked and I happily roll over for a belly rub if they pet me. I haven't lived with kids yet, but I like it when the neighbor kids pet me on the street. You know those cute little puppies that wake you at the crack of the dawn? Yeah, I don't do that. I sleep as long as you sleep and won't bother you at all. I have the run of the house here at my foster home and I have never chewed or scratched anything up and I know to go potty outside. So, if you are looking for a calm, sweet, loveable fluff ball - that would be me. Come see me at the Adoption Center and maybe we will become best buds furever. Tofu is a 3 year old female who appears to be a Petit Basset Griffon who weighs 23 pounds PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
