Sky seems to love humans too and we think as far as kids go, she's best suited for kids age 10 and up. She likes to climb into her foster mom's lap to take a nap. Sky is crate trained and almost housebroken. She just doesn't yet know how to tell you when she has to go out. We think she has some Corgi in her and we also think she may have Terrier (personality) and Pomeranian (coat). Whatever she is, Sky is sweet and cute and quite social. She's estimated to be around 14 months old and currently weighs a skinny 14 lb. She probably ought to weigh about 17-18 lb. She doesn't do well on kibble type dog food but is doing just fine on Fresh Pet, so she'll need to stay on that. The good news is it's available in most grocery stores in the refrigerated section of the pet food aisle. Sky was surrendered to rescue because her owners said she wasn't good with their cat and they had to keep her separate. We have introduced her to our dog-friendly cat and all she did was sniff him and walk away. Our cat jumped right off the chair to come up to her and that was her reaction, sniff sniff, what else can I sniff in this room? She is fairly playful though, so perhaps she was trying to play with their cat and their cat just wasn't into dog games. So far she seems to have zero interest in harming our cat and he is clearly not afraid of her. Sky spends a lot of time wrestling with Buttons, so if anyone is looking to adopt two dogs, this is your pair! They are not bonded and can be adopted separately.
