About Lonnie

Hi my name is Lonnie. I am not sure of my breed maybe Terrier-Chi, about 3-4 years old and I hate to say but I weight about 15 pounds, my foster feeds me pretty good. I am a very handsome young man, Don't you think? Some call me Feral or Very Scared. Well I like to think of myself as super cautious, and uneasy to trust. But I am full of love, if that makes sense. Lets start with what I would like in a forever home. A Very Patient person or family. Another dog to play with and be my buddy. Share their toys and bed, I like to sleep close. A buddy will help me feel safe. A yard with a good fence to keep me safe. And a doggie door so I can go out on my own to take care of business. I have been doing pretty good at that, but as my foster mom says 'No one is 100%!' I am not a dog that will come jump on you or in your lap to cuddle, only time will tell if I will ever do that, because remember I have trust issues! If I am allowed to sleep in your bed with my buddy, I would like a ramp or stairs. I have a ramp here and I like it very much. I am hard to catch, at this time my fosters can catch me IF they close the doggie door while I am in the dog yard. Then when I know I can't get away, I let them catch me. I have been with my foster for a little over a year and it took a little while before I would let them catch me. Remember I have trust issues and I am scared! I will wear a harness on my walks But please make sure it fits so I stay safe with you and can't run away if something scares me. Sorry but you cannot leave the harness on me, because I will chew it off!!, I am a little stinker that way. :) Oh yes, I walk pretty good on a leash, but I guess I could learn a thing or two. When I start to trust you I will come close to you, about arms length away and if you move slow I will let you gently pet me. After a while I will come to you and poke your arm to tell you to please pet me, But don't pull me in for a cuddle, remember I am scared and have trust issues. When I get more comfortable I might come lay by you to watch TV, especially if you have blanket! Oh! And I forgot to tell you! I absolutely LOVE helping my foster mom raise all the tiny puppies that come through the rescue! I am a very good uncle, but sometimes I play too rough for the really tiny ones. My bad...:( If you are looking at me to become part of your family, please remember I am a scared boy with trust issues. But I am a handsome young man, Don't you think? Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters.
