Duke has been adopted and returned three times now. He is a very nice dog who just can't catch a break. He does not get along with other male dogs, and possibly also female dogs. Duke likes a lot of attention from his human pack! He can be over protective of his pack, so someone needs to be sensible about keeping him safe when strangers come to the home. He lost his first home due to trying to protect his teenage humans from their friends. He lost home 2 because of his fears, and home 3 due to not getting along with the other male Doberman in the house. Duke does not like humans to put their faces into his face. He is afraid of brooms, mops, or anything with a long handle. We can only assume someone has abused Duke somewhere along his twisting road to rescue. Otherwise, he is very sweet. He smiles when you approach him and has a lot of silly vocalizations he uses to let you know he's around. Duke likes to play with toys and just be around calm, quiet, patient humans who love him. He is a lovely dog with a docked tail and natural ears and is estimated to be between 5-6 years.
