About Logan

Havanese
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone. Logan, at only 4 months old and just about 6 lbs (estimated to be full grown at approximately 12 lbs), was facing homelessness through no fault of his own. Logan was purchased from a Havanese breeder at about 2 months old. Since breeders often don't check on where their puppies go or the calibre of the family, Logan went into a family that had no puppy experience but loved the beauty and sweetness of the Havanese. They didn't formulate that puppies require training and loving care...Logan was put into a pen and given virtually no attention. When he started to protest his loveless life with crying, the family (thank goodness) made the decision to relinquish Logan to Farfel's Rescue. This sweet and engaging Havanese puppy is starting out with great energy..filled with love and sweetness. The excellent results of his temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Boulder and a new life. Logan is incredibly beautiful...with his gorgeous, cottony-soft coat and stunning chocolate markings...brilliant colors that have come out since he received a sudsy bath and grooming after his relinquishment to our rescuer. To keep Logan's coat super- healthy as he grows, he will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is a great lifelong choice for longevity and coat care) to keep his coat cottony-soft, healthy and matt-free. Logan is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's super- smart and so loving which is very typical of the enchanting Havanese breed. Logan is open and wanting to trust...clearly having no memory of the lack of love in his early life. Since Logan is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome family companion and will form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs and humans) while learning positive socialization skills through puppy kindergarten followed by group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement (force- free) trainers in your area. We're open to Logan finding his forever home with a very active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. A younger family that works from home or just part-time would also be perfect..Logan is too sensitive a puppy to be left alone all day. Logan enjoys the fun and play that happens with children as well...we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that can enjoy his fun-loving energy and be participants in a positive reinforcement training regimen. Logan will be up to date on his vetting, however a young puppy like Logan is often deemed too young to be neutered. When Logan gets a bit older, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Logan to be fixed at one of our Denver rescue vets to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation. Logan will be arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 9/26/18. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our application and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Logan please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
