Two months ago we were alerted about a lovely 10 year old female Akita in an overcrowded shelter and in danger of euthanasia. We made the extremely difficult decision not to bring her into rescue since even though we try our best, conditions at the Akita Ranch can still be hard on senior dogs and we had no fosters available. We were saddened earlier this week by the loss of Shayla, a 14 year old Akita who was taken into a foster home at the age of 12. Although Shayla cannot be replaced she will always have a piece of our hearts; and today our hearts and our APFP family grew a little more. Mochi Obachan is a healthy sporadically active senior lady who doesn't require a lot of exercise, but does enjoy having a place to sniff and run a little bit. She is tolerant of other dogs but isn't too fond of other large females or dogs that rudely invade her space. She has more than enough life and love to make someone very happy for the next few years. She is currently being fostered in the Temecula area. Meet her at #AkitaRanch 28930 Ellis Ave, Romoland, CA Open 10-5 daily. Email [email protected]
