Adoption Status: AVAILABLE This pup was rescued from an abandoned house and had no interaction with people for 12 weeks. Therefore, this pup WAS fearful of strangers and scared to approach. You can tell they want to come get a pet, but needed to learn to trust and gain confidence. This pup has been in a foster home and is now loving everyone! She is ready for a home. Piewackett is doing great. She is completely acclimated to us and our routine. I don't think it will take long for her to get acclimated to her new owner's house, especially if they have another dog. She really takes Penny's lead and goes wherever she goes. We took her to my parents' house yesterday, and she did great. There were 7 adults, three other dogs, and a toddler and she was as happy as could be. She isn't an in-your-face dog, but wags her tail when she is approached to be petted or held. She's super low-key and happy to roll around in the yard or play with toys by herself. She enjoys carrying around toys and her water/food bowls and laying on the cool hardwood floor. Potty training and leash training will be things that need to be continued. She's come a long way with both, but will obviously need to continue to be reinforced. She's quiet in the crate until she hears us start to wake up in the morning or hears us coming into the house after work, then she barks until she's let out and is SO happy to see us. She's fine in the bath and you can tell that she's not so hot and therefore happier after she's brushed (I got multiple brush fulls of hair off her yesterday!). I think it's something she'll learn to love. As much as I don't want to let her go, I think she is ready to be officially settled in her forever home. Gender: female Weight: will be X-Large at maturity, we assume 85-95 lbs Breed Guesstimate: German Shepherd/Mastiff mix Age: DOB: 1-23-18 Adoption Fee: $275 Interaction with dogs: Acceptable - this pup and it's littermates are still puppies and they love all dogs they meet! Interaction with cats: Likely acceptable. The puppies do not chase or show much interest in them so they can likely be raised with cats and taught to respect their space. Interaction with children: Would do best in a home with no kids or older kids due to their lack of socialization. Activity Level: High - typical for puppies. Daily walks and play sessions will be needed. Leash manners: Not yet learned due to young age. Housetraining: In progress. Learning and doing well but cannot yet be considered fully-housetrained due to young age. Health status: Vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered. Major Personality Traits: Typical puppy traits - happy, playful and loving! Special Needs: None. Amount of additional training needed: High.
