About Max

Hi there! My name is Max and I am looking for a new family. I was supposed to be a breeder dog, but fate intervened and I was brought into SSWR instead. I am a very young boy, only 18 months old and I need a very special family. I haven't had any training before coming to my wonderful foster home but they have been working to teach me my proper doggie manners and I am working hard to get it right. I have figured out that I am supposed to potty outside, but I haven't figured out yet how to tell you I have to go. If you watch me close enough though I will give you signs that I have to go out. I also need to learn all the other manners you want me to have. Remember, I am basically a baby and I need you to be patient and kind to help me grow up right. I am very active, my foster mom calls me spunky and playful. I really need the company of other friendly dogs. I love to run, play and hang out with other dogs. I would not be happy as an only dog or only having a part time playmate. I could probably be considered a little mischievous too. Hey, I am a westie after all. I can be a little timid about some things, so I will need reassurance until I learn. I am looking for some very special requirements for me to consider you to be my new family. I need someone who has a lot of westie experience. I haven't quite figured out this being a loved family member is yet. 2. As mentioned above, I need the company of other friendly, active, playful dogs that won't mind me hanging out with them. 3. You must have a securely fenced yard. I'm a baby and won't hesitate to go on an adventure if I get loose. I must not be outside of a secured area without having a harness and leash on at all times. 4. I love my walks, even though I am still learning how to do it properly. I need you to walk me. 5. You must have the patience to work with me on my big boy training. Going to some puppy classes with me would not only help me learn, but they would be fun too and help us bond.
