About Rufus

Hey, my name is Rufus! I'm a 2-year-old Shepherd/ Retriever mix. I'm just about the sweetest pup that you could imagine! There a lot of good dogs at the shelter, but I'm different. I'm truly a jewel in the rough. I would be the perfect family dog, and have excellent doggy manners. I have been someone's indoor pet, and am housetrained and walk beautifully on a leash. I'm just a complete gentleman. I have a sparkling personality and adore getting attention! I am exceedingly calm and low-key. I am just the perfect family pet. I am a great hiking dog, and love going on long walks in the forest. I went on a hike with some volunteers and demonstrated my stellar manner! I never pull on a leash, and just trot right along beside whoever's walking me. I also enjoyed wading in the creek, although I thought it was a little too chilly for swimming. The verdict is in, friends: I'm a keeper. So, how about it? Do you think we'd make the perfect pair?
