Luna is a ~4 year old Siberian Husky Mix. She is an incredibly people-oriented, sweet girl who bonds with people very quickly. We adopted her from a shelter only a couple days ago, but are needing to rehome her because the shelter knew very little about her, and there are some things that we just cannot accommodate for her. She really deserves a great home, and an owner who can give her what she needs. However, we should caution potential owners about two things: (1) Luna is very much an alpha-dog. We introduced her to our two labs, and she did very well until one of the labs started a fight with her. She fought back, which is not very surprising, but she also remained aggressive towards other dogs long after. We have every reason to think that she was just be defensive, but she is quick to fight. For this reason, we believe that she would be best as an only dog, and that she should definitely not live with small animals. For comparison, she has been very compliant and loving towards people, but we still don't think that she should live with children just in case. (2) Luna is also a typical husky in that she has a lot of energy. She needs a lot of exercise, and doesn't tire quickly. We live in an apartment and planned to exercise Luna mostly via a nearby dog park. Since Luna is so defensive, we don't know whether this is a viable option anymore, and hence whether will whether we will be able to give her what she needs. We love Luna very much already, and think that she will make a great dog in the right home. She is very affectionate towards people and behaves well in a home, i.e. she is house-trained, seems to do okay when we leave her in the house during the day, etc. She knows basic commands and is pretty well trained in general. She also loves to cuddle and just be around people. Let us know if you'd like to meet her or if you have any questions!
