About Dana

Adoption Fee: $295
Border Collie / Corgi
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Dana Approx. 2 years old Approx. 42lbs Border Collie/Corgi Mix Dana is the ultimate family dog! *Need assistance taking the kids to school? She loves walks and car rides. *Need support during those unruly diaper changes? She's your gal. *Got Tantrums, or noisy play dates....no big deal for this mama. Dana has been the perfect foster dog for her foster family's busy, chaotic household of dogs, cats and toddlers (ages 2 and 3) She is very loving with our little ones and all the little ones in the neighborhood. She is so gentle taking treats from their little hands, letting them put their sticky hands in her mouth to grab a bone and doesn't even mind when they tickle her toes. She loves their little hugs, belly rubs, dressing up and just wants to share their sunshine no matter what's on the agenda for the day. When nap or bed time comes she loves to sleep too in either a crate or in bed with you. Dana loves bones and being rewarded with the occasional peanut butter sandwich for a job well done. She is very smart and learn the rules of the roost very quickly. She comes when called and knows how to sit but has the potential to learn so much more. She is very content inside cuddling with you on the couch but also loves being outside. Dana loves walks, running around the fenced-in backyard with her foster siblings or riding in the car. She thinks she is super fast and she is! She runs circles around her foster siblings (also border collies) and loves playing a good game of tag. She has gotten along wonderfully with all the dogs she has met. She still has a lot of puppy energy so she would probably be best with younger dogs that like to play. She LOVES having bones to chew on and I can't say she hasn't chewed up a Paw Patrol toy or two. We don't believe Dana had much that was her own in her former life so sometimes she can get a little protective over her favorite bone or food she is eating when approached by another dog but never with a human. She may even think she's outsmarting the other dogs by hiding a bone or two in the backyard on occasion. Dana thinks cats are ok and will even let them rub up against her for a minute or two but you probably won't catch her snuggling with one anytime soon. Dana is just a wonderful companion dog that has a lot of life left and love to give. She is so appreciative of every ounce of love she receives and let's you know by nuzzling under your arm or giving you kisses on your leg after she comes in from playing outside. She doesn't cry when you leave the room or house because she knows you always come back. She has free roam of her foster family's home during the day and sleeps with the other family dogs in a gated room on a nice comfy dog bed at night. She is even potty trained. Dana was rescued from a Tennessee shelter along with one of her pups she had most recently given birth to. Being heartworm positive she didn't have much of a chance down south so while in her foster family's care over the last 2+ months she had the time to heal from having pups, get spayed, receive her heartworm treatments and get smothered in the TLC she has always deserved. She has been a beautiful addition to our family over the last 2.5 months and is now ready to find her forever family. We know you will love her as much as we do. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.
