CLAUDE - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW! Claude aka 'Claude van Damme' - Claude comes from a 'ruff' storyline, not unlike many dogs who join us, but his was the most severe we have dealt with so far. But his physical wounds have healed and his kind disposition shines. He is so polite when meeting new people and has a friendly, calm disposition that could have potential as a therapy dog. He is a happy, healthy, goofy 4 year old average sized standard Aussie who weighs 57 lbs., but in a compact, solid frame. Claude has adjusted wonderfully to a small mixed pack of dogs and gets along with everyone, even the most grumpy. He does take cues from a confident, easy-going dog when things are 'ok' and he can cut loose and have fun like a real dog. He came to us in pretty bad shape and has learned a lot from his foster brother on how to venture out on his own more and more. He is sweet and gentle with new people he meets and absolutely loves attention from those he knows. He always wants to be near his person whether it's resting at your feet or perched on the couch close by. He has mastered basic obedience commands - come, sit, stay, down, etc. and is leash trained. He is completely UTD on his vetting, house-broken and crate trained. He is trust worthy to be left alone in the house. He does fine in a home with cats. He loves going to work every day with his foster mom and is a hit with all the co-workers who have seen him flourish. He rides great in a vehicle and is up for new adventures. He has been around teenagers and is fine with them. He likes to play with toys and loves playing with other dogs. He is being fostered in the Houston area and is available for adoption in Texas only at this time.
