Meet Casper, who is an 11 month old Dogo Argentino male at Wolf Creek Dog Rescue. He is a previous training client of mine who was in a home that was not set up to deal with him in skill, consistency, or confidence, and had an old hunting Lab who had several fights with Casper (both dogs shared in blame and behavioral issues - the owner could not safely take any 'prey'[ie peacocks and chickens the lab got] without concern of the Lab biting her). Casper was set to be euthanized, but I loved his wiggly sweet personality and feel he would do amazing in the proper home. He had no issues with the 2 chihuahuas in the home, and has done well with the rescue dogs here coming up to his kennel and saying hi, and seems very interested in playing with them (we just havent had time or manpower for direct introductions, but there have been times hes briefly been out with other dogs at his Foster's house by accident without an issue). I think he'll do very well with most but possibly not all dogs with proper introduction and supervision. He can also be a little people selective - he is the BEST DOG EVER for myself and my foster, but gets very reactive to her older stepmother. Confidence and consistency in an owner is key, and I think he will do well with that. He LOVES toys, and has an awesome energy level and intellect, and would probably do very well in and benefit from a working profession (hunting, etc). He loves his people, and will wiggle ALL over with excitement when he sees them, and he is incredibly soft and great to cuddle. He is neutered, current on vaccines, and ready to go home. His adoption fee is $150 to a qualified home, and additional training sessions are available to local adopters for a discounted rate of $30/session.
